Configure IKEV2 (Strongswan) VPN client in CentOS/RHEL 8 (Gnome GUI)

by ,

GetPageSpeed keeps NGINX and Varnish servers fast and secure: performance modules and builds, plus security fixes within days, all through routine dnf, yum or apt upgrades. It maintains the largest RPM repository of NGINX module packages and Varnish VMODs, with APT packages for Debian and Ubuntu.
Free to install; commercial production use requires a subscription. Without one, a small license notice appears on HTML pages after 30 days.

So you have set up an IKEV2 VPN server using Strongswan somewhere or simply using a service that provides this type of VPN connection.

Now you want to easily configure the client VPN connection in CentOS/RHEL 8?

For some mysterious reason, the package NetworkManager-strongswan-gnome is not available in base repositories.

We have rebuilt it so you can:

sudo dnf install NetworkManager-strongswan-gnome

IKEV2 EL8

That’s all there is to it. Now you can configure the connection using Gnome GUI.
